Saturday was an early morning. Rockwell, Ellen, my other cousin Durand, my sister Mariel and I all worked as models for the Glasstron Boat photo shoot that took place on Elk Lake in Elk Rapids, MI. After the shoot, Ellen and I went into Elk Rapids briefly to go to the best pizza place of all time, Chef Charles. Days like this never get old...

For Ellen's last day up north I decided to take her to the quant little town of Suttons Bay, MI. Without knowing we arrived just in time to check out the annual Sutton's Bay Art Festival. We really enjoyed all the artists creativity. All those photographers inspire me.

Overall, this week was the best week I had all summer: bonfires, beautiful sunny days, crystal clear nights, time with family, and, most of all, best friends.

The next day we hung out on the lake most of the day and ended up in town later that night. My camera by my side; we got a bit creative...

The following morning, we went back downtown to check out the street sale.

Later that afternoon, we went over to my grandmother's (also known as 'Mama Claire') house for a short visit.

The First Chapter

I had just bought my new camera when my friend Ellen came up to Traverse City to visit me. I was pretty amped to take some photos with the bad boy (seriously it's a Rebel) and as soon as a new day began my cousin, Rockwell, Ellen, and I took off on some touristy adventures that we Northern Michiganders take for granted. It just so happens that these types of touristy adventures also translate into quite the photographic journey...
Oh, and a word of advice for anyone looking to go on a similar adventure: a few wrong turns might just lead you to some of the most memorable parts of the trip.

First stop, well, it was supposed to be Pyramid Point.
